WESTON – A young man has been transported to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre after being shot in the leg.

The incident happened around 7:30pm on 2450 Weston Rd.

It appears the victim was shot somewhere in the stairwell. Police were quick to arrive but no arrests were immediately reported.

This happened as building residents were arriving home from work. Many them were shocked by the event, while some stated that it doesn’t surprise them as violence in the area is common.

Just minutes later another shooting in Toronto’s west end sent another victim to hospital. It happened in the Lakeshore Blvd. and Mimico Ave. area of Etobicoke near a hair salon.

Police say that two people were found shot- one of them a suspect in the shooting. Up to five other suspects armed with guns fled the scene.

A gun and a live round were recovered near by.

Emergency Task Force officers were called in to search for the outstanding suspects.
