YORK – Toronto Fire Services were called early Saturday morning to a highrise fire on South Station St.

When they arrived, they found flames on the seventh floor and heavy smoke throughout the building.

They are considering the incident suspicious and say that someone deliberately set a couch on fire in the hallway of the seventh floor.

Six people were taken to hospital with minor injuries, most of them suffering from smoke inhalation.

Several residents had to be sheltered in buses as they waited for the smoke to clear from the building.

Toronto Police is investigating the incident.
