Train Derails In Pickering
March 30th, 2010 8:24pmPICKERING – A train derailment in Pickering this afternoon cause major commuter problems during the rush hour.
The CN freight train derailed near the Pickering GO station, just east of Liverpool Rd. This prompted GO officials to close the station because of fear that some hazardous materials may have spilled from the train.
GO trains from downtown Toronto were bypassing Pickering and there were some delays. Buses were used by GO to transport commuters between Ajax and Pickering.
CN Rail is still on the scene cleaning up the mess.
