MISSISSAUGA – Approximately 3500 uniformed personnel from all over Canada and some from the United States attended a service to honour the life of Const. Artem “James” Ochakovsky.

The Peel Regional Police Officer died last week in a vehicle accident on Airport Rd. and Steeles Ave. after his cruiser collided with a vehicle and then crashed into a pole.

Ochakovsky was 36-years-old and left behind a wife and a 3-year-old son, Owen.

It had been 25 years since a police officer died on duty in Peel.
