NORTH YORK – Police did not expect a routine search warrant to turn into a manhunt, but that is what happened early Sunday morning at 75 Talara Dr., in the Bayview Ave. and Sheppard Ave. E. area.

When police arrived at the address, they found that a male had fled the ground floor apartment through a window. At least one shell casing was found near the entrance of the apartment, and that was enough to prompt officers to call in K9 and ETF.

An extensive search of the area turned out empty.

After searching the apartment police found two loaded .45 caliber and 9mm handguns, 49 rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana.

A resident of the apartment, Amanda Ho, 20, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized amongst other offences.

Police are now looking for 24-year-old Carlos Silva (pictured) of Toronto. He is wanted for several weapons and drugs offences. He is described as:

- 5′ 6″ tall
- 180Lbs
- black hair

Police ask that if you see the suspect do not approach him, call 911. He is considered armed and dangerous.
