A 36-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to the head, chest and leg today after police were called to a shooting in the Jane St. and St. Clair Ave. area around 8pm today.

Early reports suggest the man was being chased by the suspects near a pizza parlour nearby. The victim then got in the taxi and urged the driver to speed away. A short time after, a vehicle pulled up next to the cab and that’s when the bullets started flying. 5-6 shots were fired, hitting the man a few times.

The victim managed to run away, but a trail of blood left behind helped police find him. He was rushed to St. Michael’s hospital with non-life threatning injuries. The cab driver was uninjured.

Video footage is being used by investigators to help identify the shooters and what took place prior to the incident.
